1. Runch
Today I went for another lunch run and just loved it! It was sunny and in the low 70’s and it was just perfect! I ran 4 miles with an easy pace of 9:16. I was visualizing the upcoming marathon and got excited and nervous at the same time. Taper is slowly making me crazy and I just want to be done with the marathon! 10 more days!
Speaking of the marathon, the weather stalking has officially started!
Last year the weather was bad, it was in the 40’s at the start and rain. I was freezing!! I had to wear 2 pair of gloves. Around mile 16 it stopped raining but it was still cold, by the time I was done it was still in the 50’s. The temperatures were great, just the rain really sucked. Last year they said, it was the first time it rained in 5 years.
Let’s hope this year will be better. The 10 day forecast only goes until Saturday (the day before the race). Good news: it won’t be hot, no heat wave in sight. Let’s just hope it won’t rain again.
I have updated my map with the states I have completed so far and it still looks so empty! Help me to fill my race calendar!
Which races did you really like and why?
What’s on your race calendar? Maybe we can meet up for some races!

I did the RnR Mardi Gras in New Orleans, LA. It was ok. But I am not digging the whole mega race vibe. Too big for my liking. They have smaller races in New Orleans if you are interested in Louisiana.
I haven’t traveled outside Arkansas or Louisiana for races. I don’t know how that is possible with the baby. But if I do, Texas will be somewhat close to do.
I totally want to go to New Orleans! I found the Jazz Half marathon in October! Small races, 2000 runners. We could do that together!!
Twin Cities is my favorite! Worth the travel.
only 10 days?! Wow! So exciting!
Thanks Wendy! Will include this in my “to race” list!
Come over to San Francisco and do SFM!!challenging hills, but worth the hurt!
San Francisco!! The SF marathoning is challenging, but worth the hurt!
I’m a serious weather stalker before races. Looks like you still need to race in Ohio. I recommend the Flying Pig and I know a family that would be happy to host for you
eeek I can relate to this entire post…so either we are both going crazy or we are both totally normal!

I will be in the middle of a run and all of a sudden my stomach jumps and I get so excited & nervous for the race I can barely keep running straight and I of course have a huge goofy smile on my face!
I am also hoping the weather is perfect in Chicago so I have loaded the city into my iweather!
keep calm and enjoy the taper! you deserve for all your hard work to pay off!!!
xoxo!!!
Your weather looks like it will be nice! I can’t believe it’s in 10 days already. I’m excited to see how you do!
oh, and for alabama, the mercedes 1/2 marathon is definitely the best bling. but you could do a double in january and do MS blues and then the mobile first light 1/2 on sunday. i think a disney race is always fun for FL.
