May Goals

I can’t believe it’s already May! Time just flies by!

I have a feeling May will be a good month. In 2 weeks I will go home and see my family! I haven’t been home in over a year and look forward to seeing my sisters and my niece and nephews. Also I’m excited to see my grandmother who will turn 90 this year!

Since I just signed up for marathon #3, training will start May 28 and I’m excited! My first day of training is a rest day. That’s my kind of training! :)

I do have some goals for this month:

  • This is the last month before marathon training. I would like to run 84 miles this month but the most important thing is I enjoy running. I need this down time in order to start good and fresh with marathon training on May 28. So no mileage goal this month
  • 100x challenge: finish the May challenge. You can read more HERE. My goal is to do at least 400 dips.
  • start writing my journal again, just 5 minutes a day
  • cook 2 new and healthy meals
    • finish part 3 of my “conflict management book”
    • read at least half of my “fun” book
  • listen more to my audiobook (finish part 2 of my current book)
  • Be positive

How about you, do you have goals for May?

Anything you look forward to in May?

Good goals – definitely good to go into marathon training feeling happy about running. :)

  2. I’m going home in two weeks to see my family too! I also get to run a half marathon on my “home” turf. Although it’s hard to define “home” these days.

    1. I was looking into a race in Germany too! Have fun back home and good luck with the race!

  3. I have four halfs scheduled in May. I just want to finish the month injury free!
I think it’s great that you want to run in each state! I do recommend Eugene. It was my first half marathon, then I PR’d on that course again a year later. The weather is usually perfect and the course is (mostly) flat and fast. The bummer is that it’s 2 hours from the Portland Airport (but you can fly into the tiny Eugene airport). There are lots of halfs in the Portland area, and running downtown along the waterfront is awesome too.

  4. Great goals! I like the “be positive” goal. I’m working on that myself.

I would love to run Wineglass!! My only problem is I have an Arizona summer ahead of me. I have never trained on a treadmill before!?

    1. I do run on the treadmill a lot, but all my long runs are outside, so not sure if it is possible to train solely on the treadmill. Wineglass is super flat, actually slightly downhill. Would be so cool to run it together! :)

  5. I’ve been thinking about goals for this month. Other than 1 half I need to narrowing the others down and keep them doable. I’ll share as soon :)
